After a nice tour to the BEIJING OLYMPICS in 2008, the very wise Flying Hoppers management team (Stefan, Retus and others) decided early on that we would of course also attend the ‘nearby’ LONDON OLYMPICS. To that effect, tickets to all the important HOCKEY matches were secured well ahead of the event.
Including our London based Hoppers, Coen and Keith, a total of 21 Flying Hoppers became participants in this fabulous mini tour, with some Flying Shoppers forming part of the group, and only Max somehow missing in action……..?!

Den grossen Abwesenden gewidmet: Marion, Andi und Shoko
Der Treffpunkt bzw. der Zeitpunkt des Abflugs war mal wieder früh am Freitagmorgen, dem 29. Juno. Die Begrüssung war demnach teilweise etwas schläfrig und die üblichen Zwischenfälle beim Einchecken blieben aus, nicht zuletzt, weil das Flughafenpersonal entsprechend klare Instruktionen gegeben hatte beim Gruppencheckin inkl. Einstellen in 2er-Reihe.

Die Flying Hoppers gewinnen ein Freundschaftsspiel gegen die Ü45 Nationalmannschaft der Schweiz souverän mit 5:1. Die Abwehr mit Walter, Willy, Guido, Diana und Claudia spielte sehr sicher, im Mittelfeld zog Jungregisseur Fabio die Fäden und vorne glänzte, neben den üblichen Torschützen Toni und Claudio, Raphi mit einem Hattrick. Tolle Leistung!

For the third year in a row the Hong Kong Football Club (their Hockey Section, which this year celebrates their 50th anniversary), invited teams from all over the world to participate in the HONG KONG EASTER SIXES Tournament. And as the HKFC’s April magazine edition mentions:
“The tournament this year welcomes back a number of teams who have been with us over the last few years, in particular the ever popular suppliers of Swiss chocolate, the Flying Hoppers from Switzerland.”
This year all the Flying Hoppers flew in just in time, on the day before the tournament, with the exception of Patrick Huber, who had already arrived on Wednesday.
