2012 HKFC EASTER HOCKEY 6s - 50th ANNIVERSARY OF HOCKEY AT HKFC
For the third year in a row the Hong Kong Football Club (their Hockey Section, which this year celebrates their 50th anniversary), invited teams from all over the world to participate in the HONG KONG EASTER SIXES Tournament. And as the HKFC’s April magazine edition mentions:
“The tournament this year welcomes back a number of teams who have been with us over the last few years, in particular the ever popular suppliers of Swiss chocolate, the Flying Hoppers from Switzerland.”
This year all the Flying Hoppers flew in just in time, on the day before the tournament, with the exception of Patrick Huber, who had already arrived on Wednesday.

Opening Remarks
This is a report about the 25th FLYING HOPPERS Tour. Just about 15 years ago, the first tour was held, way back in 1996… One quarter of a century of tours – what an amazing achievement. Basically driven by our CEO, Sir Stefan Leuenberger, who is holding the record with 24 participations!
In this CARIBBEAN TOUR 2011, the following 6 Hoppers were participating who were also taking part in 1996 (in alphabetical order by first names):
Markus (Ruckstuhl), Patrick (Stutz), Reinhard (Fischer), Retus (Gieriet), Stefan (Leuenberger), Walter (Marthaler).
This CARIBBEAN TOUR report starts with my somewhat lengthy travelling from where I live to Barbados, via Switzerland….

19.8.11 Abreise
Startschuss war um 5.45 am Flughafen Zürich. Einige kamen ausgeschlafen und fit andere mehr oder weniger direkt vom Feiern und andere wahrscheinlich direkt vom schottischen Hochland.
The Flying Hoppers are back in Town!
Nach einer weiteren grossartigen Flying Hoppers Reise in die Karibik (Barbados, Trinidad und St. Lucia) sind in der Zwischenzeit wieder alle Teilnehmer sicher in Zürich gelandet (soviel ich weiss sind auch unsere Mitglieder aus Hong Kong, New York und London wieder gut angekommen).
Nun warten wir bereits gespannt auf den englischen Reisebericht von Walter (der bereits bei mir ist!) und die deutsche Version von Claudia und Raphi sowie die vielen Bilder von Reinhard.
