Sacha und Rob haben sich für das australische 40's Masters Team qualifiziert (Sacha sogar als Vice Captain). Was für eine Leistung! Die Flying Hoppers sind stolz auf Euch!

NSW eliminate defending champions

As expected, both sides came to play, and Victoria started well, converting a penalty corner early to take the lead.
Playing with a strapped shoulder, Evan Watson slammed home a brilliant reverse stick shot from the top of the circle to grab the equaliser soon after. Play flowed end to end, and with 1 second to go on the clock, Victoria were awarded a penalty corner which was converted to give the Victorians a slender halftime lead, and hope of being able to defend their title.
Early in the second half, Evan Watson lead in behind the defense, and Sacha Overhoff threaded the needle brilliantly to see Evan Watson round the keeper and slam home another equaliser.
Feelings were running high, and Justin Nelson earned the ire of the referee after a class with one of the "Mexicans", and NSW played the next 5 minutes a man down. Victoria capitalised on this advantage and yet again regained the lead. However, Sacha Overhoff once again had the NSW Blues on level terms after flinging home a direct shot from a penalty corner.
With 4 minutes to go, NSW won a penlty corner, and using their number one combination, drew the defense to the right, and then slipped the ball back to Sacha Overhoff on the penalty spot, who made no mistake, flicking the ball into the roof of the net to secure a 4-3 victory, eliminating the defending champions, and top spot going into the playoffs
The only scare was NSW vice-captain, Rob Pickering, getting hit in the head, and being taken to hospital to get stitches in a cut above his left eye. It is expected that Rob will be right to play in the semi-final, after stitches and intensive ice treatment to reduce the swelling..
Both NSW 40's sides remaining in the competition now meet Queensland in the semi-finals tomorrow, with the 40/1's playing at 14:30 in Bunbury, while the 40/2' play at 17:00 in Busselton.
Here's hoping for a blue-wash!!!
